THE CLIENT

THE FUNCTION

• In general you will be part of the Supply Chain flow and you will be responsible for direct cost savings and maintaining a steady supplier base.
• You will be maintaining supplier agreements, compare alternatives, make decisions and implement the changes.
• Vendor evaluation: you regularly evaluate vendors in terms of timely deliveries, price agreements and quality.
• Search for alternative vendors: you look for new suppliers via internet, your network and conferences. You also visit prospects and compare them to the existing supplier base.
• Efficient collaboration with R&D: you have meetings with R&D to obtain approval for alternative suppliers and to make sure that the specifications of the materials fit the needs and requests of R&D.
• You negotiate prices to obtain competitive prices. You evaluate proposed pricings and take into account forecasts and planning.
• You ensure quality by comparing quality policies to other vendors and by evaluating operating procedures.
• You assist in trainings and educational workshops. You review professional publications and establish personal networks.
THE PROFILE

• Industrial Engineer or equivalent through experience.
• Around 5 years experience in technical and strategic buying.
• Knowledge of Dutch, French and English.
• You communicate efficiently and you are comfortable with giving presentations.
• You have a problem solving mentality.
• A real team player who can assist others in their job.
• You are flexible, proactive and you want things to move.
• You are a good negotiator.
