We are selecting candidates for the function of vice-president for the R&D division of our customer (active in the Telecom sector).
As VP, you will be responsible for the complete product development within the group. In this position, you will be in charge of a team consisting of hardware, firmware, software, and test engineers. New products are defined by PLM (Product Line Management) in close co-operation with the Sales and the R&D department.

Tasks:
-Responsible for implementing the different development programs within the budget (Cost-Time) and with the expected level of quality.
-Establish the correct organizational R&D structure and fulfill staffing needs of the R&D department (right profiles, proper skill sets)
-Ensure correct and up-to-date planning of developments using appropriate planning systems and report risks to CEO and PLM concerning project timing and technology choices
-Setting priorities over different development projects in order to minimize project delays
-Work closely together with PLM in order to synchronize developments with market needs and to provide correct estimations of development budgets (cost-time) in the product definition phase
-Creating an ideal environment in terms of tools, technologies, processes, platforms (SW, HW, testing,…)
-Selection and follow up of outsourcing partners.

Profile:
-Master of Engineering, Master of Information Sciences with profound Telecom knowledge (such as layer 2/3 protocol stacks)
-Proven track record of on-time deliveries of hardware and software development projects.
-Minimum 10 years experience in leading an R&D division.
-Proven experience with outsourcing projects.
-Fluent in English, Dutch language skills desirable
-Leadership skills, charisma, and excellent people management skills
-Result driven, pro-active approach
-Change management skills
-Ability to make proper and quick assessments
