Infrastructure Architect area Brussels

Context

As Solution Architect you will be responsible to deliver the IT infra architecture designs for all strategic projects within company. You will gather and analyse the business requirements, incorporate the non-functional requirements and build up a cost effective design based on company standard components and services.

Next to your daily contact with the project partners, you will assist the component engineers in the creation and definition of standard building blocks for all new IT-technologies company is investing in today.

Responsabilités

The solution architect is responsible for the delivery of the Solution Architecture for all projects assigned to him.

- He/She participates in project meetings to obtain all key business requirements which will define the properties of the infra architecture to be delivered. The solution architect is able to identify the pros / cons of each technical component and will present the global solution in a clear and comprehensible way to the project team.

- He/she keeps the final responsibility for the creation of the Solution Architecture document, but can be assisted by an external resource or a technical project member coached by the solution architect.

- He/she will follow up the review and defend the design towards

The solution architect will keep close contact with component and service engineers to stimulate the information exchange about new technologies and their specific properties during informal meetings, workshops and top level presentations. Together with the component engineers he/she will define and describe new standard building blocks for all new technologies being used within company.

Work background

You will be part of the IT department, which ensures internal and external managed service delivery as end-to-end solutions with added value to the business partners.

The team is a dynamic group composed of several solution architects with high level knowledge about various IT domains, which participates actively in the mission of the Integration Services department.

• You have been involved in the setup of enterprise wide architecture in
• Multi platforms and multi technologies environment
• SharePoint 2007 expertise
• Oracle Db, Oracle Warehouse Builder (general)
• Connectivity: WMQ, SOA, XFB, EAI
• Websphere Application Server
• Network
• …

You are able to make the abstraction of business requirements in order to set up a technical requirement document.
You have enough experience to predict the ‘pro and cons’ of a technical architecture
You have a knowledge of complex environments with multi systems, multi technologies and problems of connectivity (SOA, file transfer, messaging)
Fluent English and Dutch and/or French is an asset.
