Job Description
The responsibilities of the Active device Engineer are to:

- Act as project leader working closely with R&D partners (IMEC/INTEC) with responsibility to develop laser and modulator functions in silicon photonics.
- Define specifications for MOCVD growth of epi layers for laser active region
- Define process specifications for all steps in proposed process flow
- Coordinate characterization and analysis of trials and provide link between theoretical expectations and experimental results
- Work with foundries to understand and overcome technical hurdles limiting device performance

Profile
For this function we are looking for a master in physics, materials or related area (PhD is a plus) with at least 5 years of extensive experience in the design and development of active optical devices, preferably as a project leader. Experience of both modulator and laser design would be an advantage.
He or she should be fluent in English while knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
