Job Description
The responsibilities of the test engineer are:
- Define processes for testing the optical, electrical, data transfer and thermal behavior and performance of the transceivers, for example: DC optical power, optical spectrum, eye diagrams, bit error rates, cross talk, thermal reliability, …
- Perform the testing processes, write test reports and feedback test results to the R&D team
- Analyze and define test equipment needed to build a lab for testing the optical, electrical, data transfer and thermal behavior and performance of the optical transceivers
- Evaluate test capabilities of potential volume production subcontractors and provide input to the Supply Chain Manager
- Working with suppliers to purchase the test equipment, setting it up and maintaining the test equipment (including service agreements with suppliers).

Profile
For this function we are looking for a master in electronic engineering (PhD is a plus) with at least 5 years of extensive experience in the testing and/or development of high data rate Telecom or Datacom products and in the use of test equipment for electrical, optical and data transfer measurements (e.g. optical spectrum, eye diagrams, bit error rates, cross talk, thermal reliability, …). Experience with the Telcordia specifications are a clear advantage.
He or she should be fluent in English while knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
