System Engineer iSeries area Brussels

Objective :

- Member of the team Unix I-Series Support within Cross Platforms Support
- Daily Administrative task on I-Series Unix platforms (Non-Prod QA and Production environments)
- Daily & monthly reporting capacity trends
- Handling incidents – major incidents (software and hardware)
- Responsible for software installation ( i5/Os and ptf’s on Non-Prod QA and Production environments)
- Support problem & availability processes as information provider
- Technical writer for operations documentation – procedures – knowledge base – disaster recovery plan
- Projects participant
- Coordinating a technical project or an operating team
- Intervening in support of development teams
- Carrying out tests, analysing operating dossiers and writing procedures
- Optimising environment performance
- Taking part in selecting changes to systems
- Training operations personnel
- Guaranteeing the level of service commitments as well as processing quality in compliance with the quality assurance plan
- Providing continuous surveillance of all IT resources and their operational management
- Maintaining overall production conditions

Skills :

- Dutch/French and English
- 5 years' higher education – At least 4 years of experience (at least 2 years of experience required in the environment of the deliverable)
- I5/OS version V5R3, iSeries partitioning (LPAR) and Hardware Management Console (HMC), backup recovery and Media Service Product (BRMS), performance monitoring
- Knowledge of operating systems
- Knowledge of procedures for operating norms and standards
