Junior Functional Controller

Department Description:

The Country Organization consists of the national corporate functions and general service departments (IT, HR, Real Estate, Purchasing, …) and has a supporting role towards the businesses within the country. The Controlling department ensures appropriate financial control, especially in the area of budgeting, cost analysis and management reporting.
Controlling department is responsible for professional guidance of projects, processes and internal controls of the functions.
The department is also responsible for the controlling of some smaller legal entities and special purpose vehicles in Belgium and Luxemburg.


Key areas of responsibility:

• Jointly responsible for month end closure in close cooperation with accounting department.
• Prepare the annual operation plan for the functional areas and the corporate functions.
• Analyzing and reporting costs and revenues to finance team and department heads.
• Ensure compliance to national statutory requirements.
• Optimizing procedures and guidelines and execution of internal controls.
• Recharging of services to internal customers according to Service Level Agreements.
• Participate in challenging projects in finance and/or in control.
• Reports to Financial Controller of the Country Organization

Essential job requirements:

• Master in finance or equivalent true experience.
• Relevant working experience in a similar function is an asset
• Strong basic knowledge of accounting (Belgian GAAP and IFRS)
• Able to transform complex financial data into a clear presentation.
• Languages : English, Dutch and French
• Good knowledge of MS Office. Some experience with an ERP system (SAP or similar) is an additional asset.
• Self-starter; highly motivated and able to work independently
• Positive, adaptable and hands on work mentality
• Fast learning and self-development: curiosity to learn
• In the long run (±3 to 4 years), willingness to travel and flexibility to relocate to other countries, enabling you to maximize career opportunities available to you
