You can actually become a TV star in Bruges ! In our international innovation centre you contribute, together with 300 colleagues, to the creation of the most innovative TV’s. Thus providing our customers with their best cinematic viewing experience ever.
Perfect Pixel HD, Ambilight, Aurea and the recently launched Cinema 21:9 have all been developed in this innovative and driven environment. As in previous years, we got awarded in 2009 with the prestigious EISA-award for most innovative product and the best full HD LCD-television.
Key areas of responsibility:
Operational supplier management
• Buyer for aesthetical & general mechanical parts, plus additional farming out materials (e.g. screws/foams/tapes) out of 2nd tier supply base for TV
• Manage supplier performance and take appropriate actions to realize the targets
• Organize vendor meetings on a monthly basis, and Business Review Meeting on quarterly basis, for key account suppliers (to discuss quality, new projects, planning, capacity etc)
• Keep up to date supplier price list for mechanical package
• Negotiate cost down within set targets
• Organize/follow-up tool transfers and manage ownership protocols for tools and jigs
• Manage project phase out for mechanical package with minimum obsolescence cost
• Manage shortages and work out alternatives
• Motivate and manage supplier to achieve Q-targets
• Assure correct and on time packaging aligned with all stakeholders (supplier, engineering and development)
• Support appointed suppliers in 2nd tier logistics
• Inform purchasing project leader in time of shortages and work out alternatives
Capacity Management
• Report and manage capacity constraints for mechanical package in monthly tool bound process with production site
• In case of shortages over different sites, manage/coordinate global shortage wrt priority setting
Project management
• Manage NPI from design of the part over tool transfer to mass production.
• RfQ process
• Supplier allocation in alignment with strategic buyer and Commodity Team, in line with approved Philips supplier list
• Achievement of project milestones on New Product Introduction (quality/ cost targets / volume to market)
• Organize and participate in design-in & industrial workshops for mechanics
• Forecast, follow-up, and monitor the availability and deliveries of components in line with the project requirements calculate total cost of projects and communicate to cost engineers
• As part of the Mechanical Commodity Team Member: sourcing and benchmarking activities.
• Represent CL Mechanical Commodity Team in specific allocated cross sector Projects & Initiatives.
• Continuous improvement of the supply base in line with the business needs for new product creations. Sourcing of potential suppliers (internal/external Philips supply base) to fulfill business needs

Essential job requirements:
• Masters Degree (Engineering / Mechanics)
• 1-3 year Relevant work experience in international context
• Experience in consumer products manufacturing/supply chain
• Strong project management skills
• Excellent Teamwork and leadership skills
• Experience in cross functional projects
• Good communication skills in English
• Technical competence
• Excellent negotiator
