Excellent Opportunity! BI Technology Lead
Opportunity
For a world leading company in the distribution of chemicals operating in 26 European we are currently looking for an excellent BI Technology Lead.
In your BI key roll you will engage in the development, implementation and operations/maintenance Core BI (Business Intelligence) system (build primarily on the Microsoft SQL product), aimed at improving Core Business Systems’ services and solutions, enhancing visibility and automation of processes and employee productivity, reducing operations costs, and improving control and quality within the organization.
The scope of the BI system is defined as the (integrated) system components enabling functionality defined within the Process Model for Reporting & Analysis. Although principally oriented towards the Microsoft SQL product, BI system components may and will be at the integration interface or even part of other systems (Dynamics AX, Desktop Productivity Tools including XLS, MS Access, Sharepoint).

Responsibilities:
1. Principle Accountabilities
• Owns and is the design authority for the technology solutions that enable and support the Process Model for Reporting & Analysis;
• Identify, define and propose opportunities for value creation through the use of BI functionality within the Value chain, considering all stakeholders (group functions, European-wide operating companies);
• Ensure robustness, availability and integrity of (live) BI solutions and functionality;
• Champions standardization and pro-actively engages business operations staff to exploit the benefits of (standardized) BI solutions.

2. Responsibilities / Tasks
• Owns and is the design authority for BI solutions (software, hardware, contracts, standardization across the group and across business partners, re-uses, etc.);
• Manage the execution of the yearly Budget and contracts underpinning the BI solutions within the overall Core Business Systems Architecture & Budgets;
• Act, in a team of 2 at group-level, as the Level1 (functional support) and Level2 Support (Incident management) Service for BI related incidents and problems and manages the Level3 support under contract if applicable;
• Participate as the (hands-on) BI lead in development and implementation projects;
• May – occasionally – take general IT support tasks within the physical site he/she is located at to ensure IT Service Continuity (as requested and in collaboration with the responsible Regional IT Coordinator).



Your Profile

• You have a broad and in depth knowledge about IT platforms and solutions;
• You have minimum 3 years experience in data warehouse, cube and reporting/analysis front-end implementations on Microsoft technologies and exploitation of these solutions
• You have a broad knowledge about and hands-on experience in B2B supply chain (sales & distribution) process- and data-management models, workflows and standards within complete 4PL supply chain business environments (both operations and finance)
• You have the ability to operate, design, validate, monitor and test BI solutions.
• You have the ability to advise on economical aspects and the design of IT solutions and you have the ability to facilitate the implementation of changes in the IT environment
• You are fluent in English (spoken and written)
